tufting.jp is a personal site that brings together information about tufting. I started it in
2023 for one reason: to help anyone who thinks, "I'd like to try it, but I don't know what to
look up or where to begin."
Everything here is based on the tools I have used and my own experience.

How it started
It all started in 2021, when I saw a video of someone making a rug on social media and thought it looked like fun. But once I started looking into it, I didn't know what the tools were called or how to use them, and I could find almost no beginner-friendly information in Japanese. I bought the tools and learned through trial and error. I write down what I learned here so the next person who starts doesn't have to take the same long way around. Today I'm based in Yokohama, and I mainly make rugs to order.
